How to Cancel

Notes before you request

1* If you’ve used our service for less than 12 months, your deposit fee of 3,000 yen will not be refunded.

2* Once your plan has been terminated, your plan history will be deleted.

3* We will NOT cancel your plan if you have any outstanding payments.

 

Where should I start in the guidelines?

  1. If you do regular cancellation/MNP: Start from step 1.
  2. If you do MNP One-Stop: Start from step 3 after ordering your new plan with your next carrier and you’re redirected to us.

 

1. Tap on the “Plan” tab at the bottom of the Smiles Connect screen.
2. Tap on the “Apply to cancel” button.
3. Read the important notes, check each terms and conditions note to understand the cancellation process and tap on “Agree and continue.”
4. Take a moment to do the survey so we can improve our service and tap on “Next.”
5. Select the number/plan you want to cancel and tap on “Next.”

Skip to step 9 if you’re planning to cancel a Data (50GB or 100GB) plan.

Skip to step 7 if you’re canceling via MNP One-Stop.
6. Select whether you want to cancel via MNP or do regular cancellation (no phone number transfer) and tap “Next.”
7. Enter the special code that was sent to the email address you registered with Smiles.
8. Tap “Next” after you have been notified your email is verified.
9. Review your cancellation details and tap “Submit” to complete the process. You’ll receive an email to confirm that your plan has ended.

Continue to step 10 if you chose to cancel via MNP.
10. You will receive a MNP reservation number and the expiration date via email from us. Please share it with your next carrier.

Once you started the plan with your next carrier, your plan with us will automatically cancel.

Not strictly. You can cancel anytime through the app. However, please note that if you plan to cancel your plan within 12 months of using the service, you will be charged a 3,000 cancellation fee. If you used our service for more than 12 months, you will not be charged.

No, we currently do not have any campaigns relating to switching to our service. However, we provide great deals and allow our customers to support their loved ones abroad sending money through our app while sharing moments via our data plans.

Yes, if you want to cancel within the first 8 days (cooling-off period) of using our service, you can do so and you will not be penalized and we will refund you your initial month's invoice amount. To apply for the cooling-off cancellation fill out the request form and submit it to the customer service team. Here's how to find it: "Help" > "Guides" > "Cancel plan" (under "Requests") > "Form for cancellation"
